Many PR professionals come to the industry from other walks of life such as marketing or journalism, but for Tom Albers, APR, it was a lifelong calling. He had an abiding belief that PR can make a positive difference for businesses – and that the way to make this happen was to be a true partner to clients. This was the spark that inspired Tom to found Albers Communications Group in 2000 and helped make the company one of the most respected local communications firms. It has ignited thousands of relationships with the media and industry leaders and earned Albers multiple awards, including the prestigious Silver Anvil, the Oscar of the PR industry.
Tom was also a passionate believer in community service. In addition to the many charitable organizations that he supported, he was a past president of the Downtown Omaha Kiwanis Club and was serving as board chairman of Heartland Family Service at the time of his unexpected death in 2015.
Tom’s driving passion for telling people’s stories, commitment to service – both for clients and the community – and unwavering standards will always be the very core of Albers Communications Group.
