Planning a mailing soon? Below are some tips to increase your response rates when doing a business to business mailing.
- Use a current mailing list. Some list companies update their databases monthly, others do so less frequently.
- Prior to using a mailing list, look it over to make sure everything looks as expected. It's best to catch errors prior to the mailing.
- Target your mailing to those companies most likely to purchase your services. Businesses can be targeted by:
* Business type (headquarters, single locations and branches)
* Revenue size
* Employee size
* Industry specification (Using SIC codes or Yellow Page headings)
- Include a response mechanism with the direct mail piece, such
as a reply card.
- Provide some reason to respond immediately, such as a limited
time price offer.
- Explore your options regarding postage. Often you can qualify for
presorted rates, which could save you close to 50 percent on
postage.
