Tips: Referral Programs

Generating referrals can be one of the most effective ways to grow your customer base. Below are suggestions to promote referrals to your business.

  1. Make customer service a priority. Satisfied customers will most likely be your best source of referrals.
  2. Ask for referrals. Make it a point to ask your customers for names of people you may contact.
  3. Expand your referral base beyond your customers. Vendors, business acquaintances and friends can be good referral sources.
  4. Inform your referral sources of your full capabilities. Opportunities will be missed if your referral sources do not know about all of your products and services.
  5. Provide incentives for referrals such as discounts or other rewards.
  6. Thank your referral sources when they send business your way.
