A speakers bureau can be an effective method of gaining valuable exposure for your company or organization. Below are tips to help you be successful in placing representatives from your organization as speakers at business meetings and trade shows.

  1. Start your planning early. Speakers and presenters are often arranged several months to a year in advance.
  2. Place your people at events that target your key audiences.
  3. Be persistent in following up with event organizers. It may take a while to get a response due to lengthy selection processes.
  4. Prepare quality promotional materials which "sell" your speaker's qualities and abilities.
  5. Select topics that you know will appeal to the listening audience. Case studies and industry trends are frequently attractive to event organizers.
  6. Be patient. A speakers bureau can take some time to gain momentum but in the end the impact of a personal presentation is powerful and lasting.
