Bill Gates coined the expression “Content is king” back in 1996, just a year after Windows 95 was released, two years before Google was founded and eight years before Facebook was born. In the intervening years, what we think of as content has morphed to include many different things to many different people…to the point where, by some definitions, content means pretty much all information that is consumed by anyone, via any means, at any time.
Perhaps this explains why there are so many buzzwords people use when they are talking about content, particularly as it pertains to digital marketing.
