Friends in Low Places

Friends in Low Places

I posted some concert tickets for sale on my Facebook page today. I bought them in a FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) moment, and woke up the next day with a huge case of buyer’s remorse. So, I’m getting rid of them.

Now, I will content myself with listening to his music on my computer instead.

I was a big country music fan in the 90’s. Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks……I loved them all. I saw Garth Brooks when he came to Lincoln in 1997 (and if memory serves me correctly, I may have gone twice during that concert stint.)

Sure, I could have gone to see him again, but really, I’m over my country music phase and I’ll let someone who would appreciate it more go to the concert.

And there is no shortage of people who would appreciate it.

In case you haven’t heard, Garth Brooks is coming to town. He’s doing six shows in four days and nearly 100,000 people are expected to converge on downtown Omaha to enjoy the concert.

He’s breaking Nebraska ticket sale records (Which, actually, already belong to him anyway, but when you’re Garth Brooks, you can only outdo yourself, I guess.) with this concert. People are clamoring for a chance to see this country music legend and with the addition of concerts, and he’s obliging.

And I’m sure that makes the Downtown Omaha scene happy.  From hotels to restaurants, there will be lots of people who will be looking to enjoy all that our downtown has to offer while they await their concert festivities.

So, while I may not be attending this event, it will be fun to head down and mingle with my “Friends in Low Places” that Mother’s Day weekend.
